Dr Joseph Simon I was born in the 28Th of March 1956 in a small village in the Oradea area (Western Romania). My parents were committed Christians and raised me with the fear of God. Nevertheless, in my teenage years I turned to be very rebellious and caused much disappointment and shame to my family. They kept praying for my soul and God saved me when I was at the age of 23. The salvation experience brought radical changing in my life. Soon I understood that God is calling me to serve Him in the ministry of the Gospel. I started to preach in the country churches of our area. At that time theological education was much restricted in our country and I was not able to go to Seminary. For men like me the Lord has provided something that can be called "underground education". I started that in 1981 and lasted till 1990. There were theological schools in Great Britain and the United States to help us get the necessary education. The Lord blessed me with my wife Valentine. She was His instrument in my salvation During these years (1981-1990) I had a tough period of my life. There was much burden to carry. This was the time when I had to take care of my family, I had to keep a secular job to make a living, there was the theological training and I was preaching through out the country. I could have not done all these without the encouraging cooperation of my wife. I was ordained as the third pastor of First Baptist Church of Oradea in 1990. Three years latter I became the senior pastor of our church. We have started a Bible School in 1995. We have planted a new church in our city for the Everything that was good was because of Him.
